Cosmic To Do is an account-free, local-first iPhone app. We don’t receive a copy of your canvas.

Privacy policy · Effective September 17, 2026
Operator: Jorge Garza · Applies to the Cosmic To Do app and cosmictodo.app.

The short version: no app account, no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no external AI service. Your canvas is stored on your device. Optional Apple and calendar services, support email, and this website have the separate data flows described below.

Your canvas stays on your device

The app saves notes, task titles, reminder dates, drawings, object positions, paper settings, optimized image copies, and recognized text in its local app storage. No Cosmic account or cloud-sync service is required. We do not have a server copy of your canvas and cannot recover it for you.

iOS device backups may include app data depending on your Apple settings. Those backups are managed by Apple or by the computer you use for backups, not by a Cosmic sync service. Protect your device and any backup files.

Photos, shared content, and text recognition

You choose the photos the app receives using Apple’s photo picker or share sheet. The app normalizes and optimizes imported images and removes source image metadata, such as location metadata. It does not modify your original photo library. Temporary shared originals are removed after successful import; interrupted imports may retain temporary files until they finish.

Images, text, and web links shared from other apps are temporarily staged in a local container shared by Cosmic and its share extension. Text recognition uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework. Recognized text is saved separately from the caption you edit; it is not sent to an AI service.

Optional notifications and calendars

Notifications require your permission. When enabled, the app gives iOS a reminder title, date, and an internal link to the related object so an alert can bring you back to it. Notification previews may display titles on your lock screen. The sample onboarding reminder remains inactive until you explicitly activate it.

Calendar access is optional. The app requests full EventKit event access so it can list writable calendars and create and update linked events in the destination you choose. It is designed to modify only events identified as its own. It does not upload unrelated calendar events to us.

Exported events include an action title, time, and link back to the canvas. Your selected calendar account, including iCloud or Google if configured on your iPhone, may synchronize those events under that provider’s policies. Disconnecting Cosmic does not delete existing events. You can revoke notifications and calendar access in iPhone Settings.

Exports, deletion, and recovery

A .doodledo export contains canvas records, drawings, and optimized media, not original photo files. It excludes calendar links and notification identifiers. You choose where to save or share it; the selected destination’s policies apply. Restored reminders require explicit activation for notifications or calendar export.

Deleting an object is not immediate secure erasure: local recovery and undo can retain records or media. To remove the app’s local container, delete the app rather than offloading it. Separate exports, device backups, photo-library originals, and calendar events may remain in their respective locations. Save an export before removing the app if you want to keep your canvas.

Beta testing and Apple diagnostics

Apple handles TestFlight invitations, installation, and beta diagnostics. Apple may provide us with testing information, crash reports, and feedback you submit, including screenshots. This is separate from local canvas storage. Avoid including private content in feedback unless you intend to share it.

Apple may also make app diagnostics available according to your device settings and Apple’s services. We use information made available to us to investigate problems and improve reliability; we do not add an in-app tracking or analytics service.

Read Apple’s TestFlight privacy information and Apple’s privacy policy for Apple’s practices and your choices.

Support messages
